An Entrepreneurial Journey

Supporting an entrepreneur’s dream, from entrance to exit.

Journey A successful entrepreneur identified an opportunity involving the purchase of three businesses that promised new success. As he transitioned out of ownership in one entity to begin in another direction, he knew that having a multi-faceted team at his side would be a critical part of getting his new venture off the ground.

With Tom Bechtel leading the team, we facilitated a variety of key business roles that helped to create significant liquidity and profitability for our client.

How we did it:

  • Using an integrated and savvy transactional and tax team, we provided initial structuring, and tax and financing strategies as the companies grew and through the eventual acquisition of land and multiple buildings. We also worked with the client and used our extensive networks to help ascertain $10 million in financing to make the projects possible.
  • Subsequent to the operating entity sale transaction and negotiations of favorable lease terms on the buildings being leased to the public company acquirer, we assisted with a sale lease-back transaction. The information we provided to facilitate the transaction made this process smooth and seamless and provided an additional liquidity event to the owners.

The multi-specialty team we were able to assemble from within our own ranks was one of the keys to this client’s transactional successes throughout the growth and exit phases. Ultimately, our assistance in identifying and acting on opportunities to grow and reap the profits resulted in a significant increase in liquidity for the client.
