From the Inside Out
Since we believe so strongly in employing, and empowering, only the best, we invest in staff education from day one. We rigorously train employees to focus on the needs of private companies using a combination of internal and external CPE trainings, meetings and one-on-one sessions.
Related specifically to tax, once a week a different member of the tax team leads a multi-office tax lunch that covers hot tax topics as well as basic refreshers. A key component of these lunches is the combined brainstorming power of our uniquely large tax group that tackles complex client issues. The Tax Department also holds quarterly, half-day tax update sessions that go into more depth on relevant topics. Other departments, such as Accounting and Auditing, hold regular, interactive staff meetings to discuss management, department and firm issues, as well as technical updates and process improvement ideas.
And one of the most intensive and fun of all our training programs is our firm-wide, three-day retreat held offsite each fall. The training covers technical, business and personal development programs, and each level in the firm has its own tailored curriculum.
To cross-train our core team on the other advisory services we offer clients, we also conduct periodic lunch-and-learns that cover anything from investments, to issues in healthcare, to the basics of nonprofit organizations.
Specialized Development
Of course, as staff progress in their career, we also offer more individual training to help develop niche areas of specialization, managerial skills, and to plan for appropriate graduate work or additional accreditations. In-depth training is also provided to those being promoted to management.
