Below gives you an idea of what to expect and how to connect with us.
Attending in-person or virtual events is a great way to begin learning about the firm and our team. Check with your school’s career center to see when we will be at your next career fair, specialty panel or student organization meeting. We can’t wait to connect with you.
Whether an in-person interview on campus or through a video call, our on-campus recruitment team would love to schedule a time to learn more about your skills, passions and interests so we can discuss our available opportunities and potential next steps.
In our second one-on-one, you can expect to dive deeper to learn, and ask more questions, about what a day-to-day job with us looks like as part of our advisory, assurance, shared services or tax teams. You’ll have dedicated time to interview us as much as we interview you.
Ready to start your career? Most area colleges post our job opportunities on their campus career center websites. Please follow your school’s application procedures when applying for a position. If we are not connected to your school, view our current opportunities and apply online.
If you are interested in joining Cohen & Company’s robust paid, hybrid internship program, you won’t be disappointed. The program will immerse you into the profession, firm and region to help you become a well-rounded professional. Our formal program is offered twice a year, in the spring and summer semesters. Our real-world approach centers around treating interns as full-time employees and offers the tools, training and experience to achieve rapid professional growth from the beginning. In fact, many of our partners and management team members started with us as interns.
In addition to the practical experience you’ll gain, our internship also includes social events and fun networking opportunities, including client tours; intramural sports such as soccer, softball and volleyball; and informal get togethers to unwind at the end of the day. Our interns also blog about their experiences and write/present papers on the entire program.
Orientation for interns and other entry level employees begins with a week-long training schedule to learn about our software and processes; receive job-specific training, as applicable; and hear from key leadership on their insights into the firm and the profession. You’ll also meet our Welcome Committee, created to help our new employees feel at home as quickly as possible. We want to ensure you integrate into our culture, can navigate your specific office and work environment, and most importantly, feel comfortable knowing where to go for any question you have during your first few weeks (and beyond) of employment!
The primary purpose of our internship program is to offer experience via tax, assurance, advisory or corporate shared services projects. This often includes conducting fieldwork onsite at the client with your engagement teams, working through tax returns, creating deliverables to present to clients, or getting hands-on experience in our IT, HR or Finance departments.
Timely feedback is important to us, and invaluable to the success of our employees. In addition to constant interaction with our management team, we also provide every new hire with a team manager, regular feedback (both verbal and written) from those you work closely with and evaluation of your work using our robust performance management system.
