Cohen & Company congratulates Jami Blake, assurance partner and technical director for the firm’s privately held clients, on her recent appointment to the American Institute of CPAs’ (AICPA) Accounting and Review Services Committee.
The AICPA Accounting and Review Services Committee (ARSC) is the senior committee designated by the Governing Council to issue pronouncements in connection with the unaudited financial statements or other unaudited financial information of a nonpublic entity.
The mission of ARSC is to serve the public interest by developing, updating and communicating comprehensive standards and practice guidance that enable accountants of nonissuers to provide high-quality and objective review, compilation and financial statement preparation services to nonissuers in an effective and efficient manner.
As technical director for Cohen & Company’s privately held clients, Jami performs a vast number of the firm’s technical reviews of private company financials and is often the go-to person for consultations on complex accounting and auditing issues. She also assists in creating the training and development curriculum for the Assurance Practice, co-leads and often instructs at year-round training events, and leads the department’s annual internal quality inspection review process and its triannual external peer review.
As an assurance partner, Jami conducts financial statement and employee benefit plan audits for clients in a variety of industries, with a specialization in manufacturing and construction, and offers valuable consulting advice related to business development and growth.
