Cohen & Company is pleased to announce its move to 1001 Woodward Ave. in the heart of downtown Detroit. The new office space overlooks Campus Martius Park and is located at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue, one of America’s most iconic roadways.
This new space marks Cohen & Company’s third office since entering the Michigan market in 2016 with the acquisition of GHD CPAs and Advisors based in St. Clair Shores. The firm opened its first downtown Detroit office in 2017 with a handful of employees; since then, the team has continued to expand and now totals over 50 employees across both Michigan offices.
“We are excited to continue to grow in downtown Detroit with the renaissance happening in the area and know that it is a city with significant opportunities for our clients and employees,” says Chris Bellamy, Cohen & Company CEO. “Our success in both of our Michigan offices is due to our exceptional team that remains true to our client-focused model and foundational principles. The energy and incredible willingness they have to help our clients succeed drive our ability to grow.”
Geographic market leader and Senior Tax Manager Jeffrey McMichael is a lifelong Michigan resident and reiterates the importance of the firm’s downtown Detroit presence.
“Being in the heart of downtown is very important to not only our firm, but also our clients. The central business district is exactly where we need to be to service our clients, stay involved with business leaders and make an impact on our community. The new location is an exciting place for us to call home.”
The Detroit office’s comprehensive service offerings include tax, assurance and advisory services for numerous industries. Cohen & Company is currently hiring both new and experienced staff in Detroit, cultivating existing relationships and working with universities nationwide to develop and attract talent.
