Ryan’s approach to working with clients is much broader than conducting an audit or review. His business mindset means he is always striving to add insight alongside the compliance task at hand. Ryan’s genuine personality and inquisitive nature cause him to dig deeper — with the goal of understanding any operational or strategic issues so he can better assist business owners.
Beginning his public accounting career in 2011, Ryan conducts private company financial statement audits, reviews and various attest functions for clients in a number of industries, including manufacturing, distribution and industrial services. He assists clients in navigating accounting issues such as business combinations and acquisitions, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation and inventory costing, and conducts related research. Ryan also helps family owned businesses transition from closely held ownership to private equity, venture capital and various sponsored-back ownership groups. A process that necessitates specific experience, he helps lead owners through the complexities of purchase price accounting, net working capital calculations, and the overall upgrades in financial reporting that will be needed for their new financial investors. In addition, Ryan leads several of the firm’s international group audit engagements, where he serves in a component auditor role between a group auditor and local management. Throughout the course of his work, he also adds value by offering best practices related to the internal control environment and financial reporting processes, and by preparing clients for relevant changes to reporting standards.
